As we get closer to the holiday of Chanukah, I had the pleasure of collaborating with my colleague Rabbi Akiva Wolk on a Chanukah Gemara project. The goal of the project is to have students learn Gemara independently and to use the information to create an Instagram project. In addition to the project, the students need to learn how to read the Gemara inside and will have a reading asssessment.
For each part of the Gemara the students received: a classic page of Gemara, the Artscroll translation of the Gemara, and guiding questions to help them extract the important information.
We just introduced the project to our classes yesterday and we are excited to see them learn and create!
Here is the assignment sheet we gave out to our students:
[Note: This project was created for a grade level class. It can easily be adjusted for a class with stronger or weaker skills.]
